Our Story: How ELCCO Came to Be

Early Learning Centers of Central Oregon began with a simple but powerful belief: that every child deserves a joyful, nurturing place to learn, and every family deserves to feel supported and welcomed. Founded by a passionate educator and administrator who saw the need for high-quality, heart-centered care in our community, ELCCO was built from the ground up with intention, creativity, and love.

This dream would not have become reality without the generous support of a start-up grant from NeighborImpact Childcare Resources, whose investment in early education helped lay the foundation for our program. We’re also deeply grateful for our partnership with the Crook County School District, whose commitment to creating more accessible preschool options for their staff aligned beautifully with our mission. Together, we’ve built a space where children thrive and families feel truly seen.

From the very beginning, we’ve focused on creating environments that feel like home—where creative art centers, cozy calm corners, and playful learning centers invite children to explore, imagine, and grow. Our programs blend project-based learning with emotional warmth, and our commitment to clear, family-friendly communication ensures that parents always feel informed and included.

Our Vision for Growth

 As we look ahead, our goal is to grow with purpose—not just in size, but in impact. We plan to expand our reach across Central Oregon, opening new locations that reflect the same cozy charm and educational excellence families have come to trust. We’re also investing in staff development, digital tools, and community partnerships to deepen our support for families and educators alike.
